The Cookies
Thanks for visiting our site! If you've ever had a Kevin's Cookie, you know there is nothing better than "The Cookie You Can Take Home to Mom." What makes them so good? For one thing, we use the best ingredients. For another, we're just really good at making cookies! When we closed the doors to our cookie business in 2010 after 21 years, I found myself in full-time ministry. In doing so, my family fell in love with mission work -- meeting the needs of those in our global AND local community.
The Cause
It's always cool when you can do something you love so that you can do something you love! Who doesn't like cookies? When you buy our amazing cookies, the proceeds help fund mission work, both locally (Central Texas) and internationally (Guatemala). So we decided that cranking up the ovens a couple of times a year would be a great way to raise money to invest in local and international mission work.
How We Help
Our hearts lean toward Central America. Since 2013 we have been working in the southern rural region of Guatemala, in the Departamento Santa Rosa. (Departments are the equivalent of what we call states in the U.S.)
We want to do anything we can do to give kids a better chance at success in life. In the villages of Santa Rosa, we work for nutrition, sanitation and health (building latrines, installing portable water filters to as many households as we can, and installing clean-burning cookstoves), and education.
And last, but not least, we use some of our proceeds to impact our community by helping those in need locally, especially through child food and nutrition programs.
We believe that every child has been created by God for a purpose, and we want to help give them the best chance to live out that purpose!
